Health and safety at TR: key to our sustainability

As it occurs on every April 28, at Técnicas Reunidas we join the International Labour Organization in commemorating World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year the motto referred to is: “Exploring the impact of climate change on occupational safety and health.”

In line with this slogan, at Técnicas Reunidas we prioritize the well-being of our employees and subcontractors, by implementing the measures deemed necessary to create a healthy work environment and prevent occupational hazards.

At Técnicas Reunidas we have three fundamental principles regarding occupational health and safety: the first is that the health and safety of workers is part of the Company’s strategy, both at worksites and in offices, evaluating compliance in both cases; the second principle is TR philosophy regarding the prevention of accidents and incidents, and thus guaranteeing the best working conditions; and the third principle is that TR works to achieve continuous improvement of methods and processes, promoting the prevention of incidents.

The corporate culture is based on occupational health and safety, highlighting the principle of co-responsibility at all levels of the company, incorporating new technologies for better performance and monitoring of health and safety conditions in projects.

The Company’s corporate culture focuses on occupational health and safety by promoting training and awareness raising programs for all employees and fostering shared responsibility at different levels of the Organization.

In addition, at Técnicas Reunidas, we have the TRBienestar program, which provides support and reference material on good physical and mental health habits at work. In this context, the company recognizes that encouraging an active lifestyle among its employees not only improves their individual well-being, but also contributes to the creation of healthier and more sustainable communities.

In addition to all these initiatives, at Técnicas Reunidas, we promote sports among employees through the “Active Break” initiative. This involves offering free weekly classes of various sports activities so that all employees can enjoy the benefits of physical activity, including sports such as pilates, yoga, stretching, and mindfulness workshops. We also collaborate with external companies like Gympass, providing workers with access to a wide range of sports centers to enjoy every day.

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) related to safety and health are included into SDG 3: “Health and Well-being; SDG 6 “drinking water and sanitation”; and SDG11 “sustainable cities”.
