Once again, this year, we join Earth Hour

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time and its effects impact communities around the world.

In this context, Earth Hour, an initiative promoted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), is a simple gesture: turning off the lights of the most emblematic monuments, homes and buildings, and is addressed to citizens, companies and institutions.

Thus, next Saturday 22 March, from 20:30 to 21:30, the whole of society is invited to join in this simple gesture, giving one hour to the Planet and raising awareness of the importance of combating climate change and halting biodiversity loss.

Once again, this year, Técnicas Reunidas participates in this initiative, demonstrating its commitment to the environment and the fight against climate change by switching off the lights in all its buildings in Madrid, Bilbao and Cartagena. With SBTi’s support, the Company is making progress in its ambitious decarbonisation plan, promoting energy efficiency and accompanying its customers in their transformation towards a more sustainable future.

We encourage you to join this initiative in a personal way by turning off the lights in your home and sharing your favorite natural places, the ones you want so much to protect against the impacts of climate change. Remember that we can take care of the Planet with small habits in our daily routine:

  • Reduce the consumption of single-use plastics.
  • Recycle waste correctly (paper, glass, plastic, electronics).
  • Turn off lights and domestic appliances when not in use.
  • Use LED bulbs and energy-saving domestic appliances.
  • Walk, use bicycle or use public transport instead of the car.
  • Avoid wasting food.
  • Take care of green spaces and do not litter.

Every action leaves a footprint, let’s make ours a positive and sustainable one.
