Técnicas Reunidas celebrates the 9th anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals

On the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Técnicas Reunidas reaffirms its commitment to the 2030 Agenda. Laura Bravo, Sustainability Director, highlights how the Company is involved with this United Nations initiative, which sets 17 goals to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, ensure prosperity for everybody, and address key challenges through interconnected objectives.

Within these 17 SDGs, Técnicas Reunidas can make a more significant contribution to three of them: SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Our involvement with SDG 7 is performed from track, where, as the Head of the Technology and Energy Transition Department, Pablo de Hoyos, tells us, “it stems from the drive towards the transition to clean and efficient energy sources to mitigate climate change“.

Regarding SDG 9, as developed by Javier Limpo, Director of the Proprietary Technologies Division and the Technology Center, the engineering services provided by Técnicas Reunidas allow to have a sustainable and resilient infrastructure, modernizing energy plants and investing in clean technologies, relying on its technology center to offer efficient solutions to its customers.

Técnicas Reunidas implements various projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and demonstrate our commitment to SDG 13. These include renewable energy plants, carbon capture and storage systems, and energy efficiency improvements to existing infrastructure, as Arturo Vallejo, Department Head of HSE Engineering, and Ester Herrero, Senior HSE Management Systems Specialist, explain in the video.

At Técnicas Reunidas we will continue to work towards a sustainable future, with a commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals as our hallmark.
